Lucerna, from the Latin word for lantern, is inspired by the poetic glow of traditional Japanese paper lanterns. The collection reinterprets this timeless form through Studio Palatin’s sculptural language, combining delicate shades with architectural bronze.
Each suspended chandelier features handmade shades crafted from Japanese Hosho paper, with the option to be painted in ink. Our examples explore cobalt blue and sepia ink, paired with polished or dark patinated bronze. Sculptural bronze elements hold the passementerie cords that suspend the lantern, while signature Studio Palatin bronze finials complete each piece at the base.
Both the ink detailing and the sizes can be custom made, allowing Lucerna to be tailored to each interior. Conceived as luminous sculptures, the pieces celebrate the dialogue between fragility and permanence, lightness and structure.
We offer two sizes at the moment, which can be arranged to be hung as a group or as a singular hanging lamp.
